Stop everything you’re doing and read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.
I can’t really say a whole lot without giving it away. A man goes out one night. He’s abducted. Everything changes.
Crouch gives us that hard to find feeling. The little jolt of electricity when a book surprises you. Again, and again, and again. This book is the monster in your head. What would you do if someone stole your life away? What would you do if someone loved your wife better than you? What would you do if you woke up and remembered your child but he’d never been born? The questions keep coming and they rip you apart.
This book is new and fresh and terrifying in a way that science fiction ought to be more often. This book is a new brand of horror. Read it and remember to be grateful for what you have, lest you find yourself giving it all away.
